Tips For Speeding Up Windows XP OS

Virtual memory works as a paging file. It works to simulate memory allowing your system to run any program. When in fact, you computer is actually low on memeory or working extremely hard.

Follow these steps to manipulate the virtual memory.

1. First click start and go to RUN. You then need to type sysdm.cpl and then select enter.

2. Then you click advance. Find the word PERFORMANCE and under performance click settings.

3. You then need to click Advance and Find the virtual memory. When found, go to CHANGE.

4. Find the drive. Once you’ve found it, select the drive that contains the paging file you wish to modify.

5. Once found, click the paging file and and click customize. You should now be able to modify the paging files size in MB (megabytes).

6. Click “OK” and apply the changes to the hard drive.
